Do you read in the bath?

Apparently, such a question can lead to a bit of a debate! With today being National Read in the bath day, I have been intrigued on finding out what it is about reading in the bath that makes total sense to some, but is a huge no-no to others.

I am guilty of this ritual, in fact I cannot have a bath without reading a few chapters of my book. I find it the perfect way to relax and often better than my bed as I don't tend to be disturbed when in the bath! Obviously, the main worry is that the book will end up in the tub.....well, this has only happened to me twice in my bath-reading career! I wouldn't want to ruin a good book, that is for sure which is why I have one of those wooden shelves that fit over the bath to keep my book on! Comes in very handy!

Some people believe that reading in the bathroom can spread germs and therefore do not partake in a little read there, and I can understand if they were reading on the toilet! I just personally find the combination of bubbles and book very enticing! In fact, tonight is my usual time for my weekly read in the bath session (currently reading The Art of Hiding by Amanda Prowse) and am looking forward to escaping from the usual Sunday night pressures of having everyone ready for school and work for another week!
