World Book day for grown ups!

 

If World Book Day was for grown-ups

And the adult things they read

The costumes would be difficult to find

And you don't know where it could lead!

There'd be fifty shades of underwear,

Bridget Jones' with their blue soup,

There'd be hundreds of detectives, 

And Great Gatsby's in a group.

We would surely find some Frankensteins

And Draculas here and there

There may be a few Hobbits around

Even some plain Jane Eyres!

People might go towards Shakespeare

And dress as Juliet or Romeo,

A speckling of Hamlets I'm sure

Macbeth? I do not know.

If World Book Day were for Grown ups

I'm not sure what I would be,

I'd rather curl up with a book,

Which is quintessentially me!
