My Life
Here, I am starting to share some of the poetry I wrote as a teenager. I found several pieces, including the two "books" which I had penned. I was struck by how many poems were very negative in their tone, with subjects such as death, war and unhappiness being explored.
I am starting with a less negative piece, which I found written in one of my diaries, dated back in the 90's.
It is entitled My Life
My dreams are like a wonderful rainbow
A pot of gold may lie at the end
But with my life, I never know
What's waiting around the bend.
Will I be lucky? Will I be safe?
Will I be happy with life?
Only heaven knows whether I'll survive
Through any pain or strife.
My life is full of rainbows
But will I find that pot of gold?
Whatever, wherever, somewhere, somehow
My fate will soon unfold
