The Temptation of the cookie

We resisted the temptation, When we stirred you in the bowl.

When we blended the ingredients, with all our heart and soul.

We resisted the temptation, when we cut shapes from your dough

When we prepared you for the oven, ready to watch you grow.

We resisted the temptation, when you first came out all hot

When we put you on the cooling wrack, deciding whether to or not.

We couldn't resist much longer when overwhelmed by your scent

We couldn't hold out any longer....into our mouths you went!

The sweet taste of your chocolate, the feeling of your crumb

The gooey evidence left behind....you were quite simply.......YUM!
